Hiding

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've recycled that sky background... For some reason I find sunsets very hard to draw...
So, the moment when the angel-controlled Eva 03 finds Eva 02's hiding place...

This time I took a picture of the body of Eva 03 and 2 separate ones for the arms, this, to make some trickery on then and giving them the effect of greater length as seen on the series... Then I assembled the 3 layers on one mutated Eva only to notice that I took the pictures of the arms without hands in them!

I had to photo the hands alone and then tried to add them to the existing layers, but the colors didn't quite match, I used some tools to try to make them look the same color as the arms, but I only managed to make the left hand look barely similar... The right hand is hidden by a conveniently placed three there XD

Creo es la tercera o cuarta vez que he reciclado ese cielo en el fondo... Por alguna razón encuentro los atardeceres difíciles de dibujar...
Entonces, el momento en que el Eva 03 controlado por el angel encuentra el escondite del Eva 02...

Esta vez tomé fotos separadas del cuerpo del Eva 03 y 3 separadas para cada brazo, esto, para hacerles algunos trucos y darles el efecto de ser más largos como se ve en la serie... Después ensamblé las capas en un Eva mutante sólo para darme cuenta de que tomé las fotos de los brazos sin manos puestas!

Tuve que fotografiar las manos solas y tratar de agregarlas a las capas existentes, pero los colores no eran iguales, usé algunas herramientas para igualar los tonos, pero sólo logré que la mano izquierda se viera ligeramente similar... La mano derecha está oculta tras un árbol convenientemente puesto XD

Bio-Contamination! (Part 2)

A direct continuation of this image, Evangelion 00 and 03 as seen in episode 18!

I couldn't decide on making either an image of Eva 00 or Eva 03, so I made one with both of them!
Nothing really new on this one, I did it in a hurry (as usual) to finish some documents I need for my social service...

Anyhow, Eva 02 Gamma is released this week, so, assuming the Hot Toys Ada Wong I ordered for June is not delayed another month, I'll be receiving it until next month...

I start school tomorrow, and this semester I take a difficult subject (more like the teacher is very difficult)... Some say it's the hardest in the career...

Dummy Plug

The sad fate of Evangelion 03...
This took me a bit since  I've had tons of homework this week :(

I had to rush the end of the image (as evidenced by the trees on the left and the ugly building on the right)
but I added those "shines" that pass from the BG as an experiment... I think I almost got it XD

Anywho, they've already announced Evangelion 13 for July!
And Evangelion Q is out in less than 15 days!

So nice I'm back in school where time flows faster :3

Waiting in peace...

Asuka before the ill-fated activation of Evangelion 03...
Despite I liked how the foreground grass ended I think it's far too detailed for the rest of the image...
Also, I added some effects to the trees on the back too see if I could make them look a bit more real... Don't think it worked...

The base of operations and the cage of the Eva are all 3D design, which I think I'm starting to integrate more evenly into the image (well, not so much the cage)

The Asuka is a Figma a friend let me have some pictures of (I have another one in progress) and the Eva is the 2.0 version...

A week late, but well, better late than never right XD

Wrecking Tokyo III

It's been a while since I used Eva 05 for an image so I decided to put it here, in another strange fight...

This time, to create the city behind, I used Google's SketchUp... The city IS 3D design even when not noticeable due to the drawn appearance of the buildings, but it's a start...
Besides that, I didn't used any new anything on this one (most of the production time went on to making the city and it's renderings)

Have you watched the Eva Q camrip? It's great! I think there will be around 12 new figures!

Box design 2

There's a long story behind the why of these 2 images, but I won't spend much time on them: they're for the box of the figures, obviously, and they will be printed on adhesive paper and pasted on the side of the box to help me ID the figures from outside...

Now, the one of Eva 04 is nothing new, a few stars, smoke a glow in the eyes (something I technically shouldn't add 'cuz I'm not specifying on the box that the figure's eyes don't actually glow)...

On the other hand, the Eva 03 drawing has the technical achievement prize in an image (so far) as it contains the most complex 3D design I've used...

I'm talking about the transport cross thingie...

I know it lacks many of the details present on the one we see in the movie, but it suffices for now... Many specific details such as the shoulder, pylon and ankle holds has to be drawn on top...

BTW, I used Ulead COOL 3D to make it, a very simple and intuitive program... Maybe later I'll try to use a more complex one...

PS: I leave a side angle of the cross... I definitely must keep clicking on until I master this program XD

The beasts

A quicky made one...

The concept of angel Eva 03 figthing Eva 02 Beast mode is old for me.. Probably first though about it around this time of past year...

For a change, this scene happens in a desertic area filled wit dead trees...

There's a lot of dust floating around due to the Evas' movements... I think they came out right...

UPDATE: I added some shadows below the Evas... I knew I was forgetting something...

Sniper!

Coming to think of it, it's the 2nd time Eva 03 is depicted with this rifle...
Originally it was going to be Eva 00, but I decided that it had too many images in the past weeks...
So I used Eva 03 instead... This one is really easy, I should be doing a documentary investigation and instead I'm writing this!
With that in mind I just added a quick BG... I really like how easy it it for EvaEvos to hold their guns...
Anyhow, Uncharted 3 was released this week... Man I want it...
And EvaEvo 05 is gonna be released in a few days...
Ends of the year are evil.. Everyone releases their crap for you to buy...

The 9th Angel's Attack

So... The first one out of (planned) 4 images on this particular scene...
I filled the gaps on the Eva's arm... And that's pretty much it...
EvaEvos take a lot of the editing work off my back as the joints are hardly noticeable, I only have to watch the chroma keys...

The last Eva units... Couldn't post last Wednesday 'cuz I was making a level on Little Big Planet... Took me the whole day! When I realized it was Friday... That thing is addictive, hahaha...

Anyhow... Eva 03 breaking wires, 04 among flames (I'm starting to think he's an arsenist) and Eva 05 with the tail of the 3rd angel...

I guess I'm done with these... I'll make one for Ze Bisto and the Released Eva 01 when Mark 6 is here...

Anyhow, I tried to make 3D molds on Eva 03's cross with Corel but when I tried to pass then to PS they went odd, so much had to be redone...
Don't you love Eva 02's pose of "Yeah, I caused that fire 'cuz I'm cool... Got a problem?"

Bio-Contamination!

The battle between Eva 03 (both in the Tv series and in Rebuild) is the one I use the most for my images... I tried to digitally elongate the arms, but they turned out really weird so I used the original pic... Incidentally, Eva 03 and 00 were poser together, not photographed separately and then fused in a single image... I added the contaminated Entry Plug and the pollution goo that emanated from the Eva's arm... Next week's image is almost done (ah, the free time of vacations!) and there's already one in progress ready for the arrival of EvaEvo 01!

Possesed by an Angel?

At this point it is very clear that my favorite Eva is Unit 03...
A quick .gif for y'all... Was gonna be a stop motion animation but production met the deadline...
Maybe I'll complete it later...

I saw the Blog's stats, from December 2010 to now there have been about 500 visits monthly, compared to it's first 3 months, it's an improvement...
I wish more people could bump in here, hahaha...
Anyhow... Let's see how many people visits EvaPosers every month in a year!

Forest Fire!

The image of Eva 03 was gonna be last week's post. Instead of Unit 04, there was a building.
Of course then I thought: why the heck is Eva 03 firing at it?
Eva 04 came to my mind later...
The AT field was very easy to draw, and I think we all remember the rainbow motif of Rebuild...
When I was enhancing the different layers of trees I came up with the idea of the forest being on fire... I Didn't drew the smoke there must be, or the pic would have looked dark and well, smokey...
The only thing that I couldn't think of is why are they fighting?

Something You May Use

Hello!
Just finished this one... I've had the idea of a page marker since a long time ago (even before the conception of the blog itself!)
The look a bit jammed there don't you think?
I decided not to erase the joints this time (the ugly truth: got lazy)...
All you have to do now is print; pierce the upper part and slide a ribbon or string to use!
You may want to plastify it...
I have one planned for the Rebuild Evas, but I dunno if make it 'till the movies are finished (that may take one or two years) or make them with the ones I've got so far...
Anyhow, the next image is the Xmas special!
Got something nice in the oven for next week!

Confess!

Been playing with the light sources... I used a new croma key for this one: I had to be holding a 3 pound lamp with a hand while taking a non-shaky pic with the other... Kinda hard.
For some reason it is very easy to imagine the MP Evas being mutilated, mistreated, used, abused and/or sodomized...
I thought it would be harder to draw a BG from zero, but I think it turned out right... Why a dungeon? Dunno, better than another pic in Nerv with flat trees...
I only forgot to re-draw Unit 03's eyes...
The eyes always look opaque in the pictures...

Shin Seiki Evangelion

Yay!
I managed to end (sort of) my homework and made this!
This is the 1st image that features more than 3 Evas and ironically, they were taken separately...
Each Eva was photographed individually and then added to the BG, that easens the editing of the body armor, wrists and neck.
All the eyes (well, of those with eyes) were drawn on 'cuz they were almost invisible in the picture.
I wonder why it's everything burned up... Iguess someone dropped his N2 mine...
