Zeruel's attack (Final)

I swear I remember I have this blog!
And it torments me I can't post as often... When I started it way back in 2010 I made 47 posts! Now, if I make one post a year I'll feel accomplished... 
How the times have changed... I suppose it is either  a perk of growing or the fact that I prefer spending time with my family instead of using 3+ hours to make a new image... When I started this blog I had a lot of spare time, but now... Not so much... 
Still, I find myself doodling potential new images for this blog on the back of my notebooks or in paper scraps, the same way I did when I started...

Today I decided to make this image on a whim...
It's good to see I haven't lost practice, as I made it in under 2 hours.
I decided to continue with this ongoing (and long-overdue) story taken from ep. 19...
Looking back at the first images from this set, I can see how much my style has evolved, from correcting the angles, using less saturated colors, adding light effects and  using better stock trees... I wanted to make them 3D but on that I have lost practice.

Anyways, I still try to post videos and answer any questions on my Youtube channel, since that medium allows for better interaction... I guess a Blog was not the best medium to showcase this hobby. One thing is sure: I will go on buying and reviewing this amazing figures for the sake of a hobby...

I have no idea whatsoever if this image bears any resemblance to anything that actually happens in the game the Eva is from XD
But I had been itching to make and image with this figure for too long now, and in fact, I finished it in like 20 minutes... You have no idea how much time the light box saves me when it comes to the original BG erasing...
I'm uploading it today 'cuz I have been busy...
But anyways, I'm in my tablet and trying to use the URL linkers of the blog tool is a nightmare, so... you know where to search for the original pic...

I think finally I'm getting how to make mist, clouds and similar foggy things XD

Eva Magi, Holy Quintet!

Ok, maybe the Madoka Magica-Evangelion crossover is not the best idea I've had, but don't they look cute?  XD
Nothing new here, I used random screencaps of Maya's monitors from Rebuild and some 3D design for the spiraling end of the Lance of Cassius Eva 02 is holding... Also, lacking a bow for Madoka/Eva 08 I used Eva 02's crossbow... And since all the shields I have are way too big, Homura/Eva 01 will only have the sentai pose...
Anyhow, hoping to return to a weekly basis now that I've finished my semester...

Ok, tal vez un crossover de Madoka Magica-Evangelion no es la mejor idea que he tenido, pero ¿acaso no se ven lindos? XD
Nada nuevo aquí, use capturas de pantalla al azar de los monitores de Maya en Rebuild y un poco de diseño 3D para el extremo en espiral de la Lanza de Cassius que sostiene el Eva 02... También, a falta de un arco para Madoka/Eva 08 usé la ballesta del Eva 02... Y ya que todos los escudos que tengo son muy grandes, Homura/Eva 01 solo tendrá su pose sentai...
En fin, espero regresar a producción semanal ahora que concluí el semestre...

Firing! In 3D!!!

A retake (no pornographic pun intended) of this image from a couple of years ago...
Originally, it was meant to be 3D from the beginning, however I could not find a pair of anaglyph glasses to make it... Since I had the anniversary date on top I made it quickly in 2D... Ironically this year I completely missed that date XD
In any case, I hope you have anaglyph glasses around... I tried making them with about 7 Internet tutorials and they never worked.... The ones I used came from a children's book I found in the discount section of a store... Got 2 actually :P
Anyhow, 2 years after it's inception, a 3D image!

La compleción de esta imagen de hace un par de años...
Originalmente, iba a ser 3D desde el principio, sin embargo no pude encontrar un par de lentes anaglifos para terminarla... Ya que tenía la fecha del aniversario encima la terminé rápidamente en 2D... Irónicamente este año olvidé por completo esa fecha XD
En cualquier caso, espero que tengan lentes anaglifos por ahí... Yo intenté hacerlos con como 7 tutoriales de Internet y nunca funcionaron... Los que usé venían con un libro para niños que encontré en la sección de descuentos de una tienda... Venía con 2 de hecho :P
En fin, 2 años después de su inicio, ¡una imagen en 3D!

Devil itself!

I mashed up 2 different frames from End of Evangelion for a single image as the idea of Eva 01 alone didn't appealed much to me...
I re-made the drawing of Shinji from the "Groundwork of Evangelion: the Movie 1", also taking 2 different frames into it, the body is from the moment when he screams after seeing the destroyed Eva 02 and the head is when he first appears with the Eva...
Besides that there's nothing new here XD

Mezclé 2 imágenes diferentes de End of Evangelion para hacer una ya que la idea del Eva 01 solo no me gustaba mucho...
Re-hice el dibujo de Shinji del "Groundwork of Evangelion: the Movie 1", también tomando 2 cuadros diferentes, el cuerpo es del momento donde él grita después de ver al Eva 02 destruido  y la cabeza cuando aparece con el Eva
Aparte de eso no hay nada nuevo XD

I used 3D for the sealing pillars on the background, I also had originally done the spiraling end of the Cassius Spear, but I didn't liked how it looked, so I just left that out...

Use 3D para los pilares del fondo, tamién había hecho la punta en espiral de la Lanza de Casius, pero no me gustó como quedó, así que deje eso fuera...

AT Field breakthrough!

Why 2?
Well, since it's the last post of my vacations and probably from now on there will be many gaps in posting I decided to make it special!

So I made an animated .gif pic for you!

Ok, ok, it's not animated in the broad sense but it's a start!

Nothing new here, a few effects of light and transparencies and there you go...

The AT field is a recolored version of the stock one I normally use on my images (like HERE and HERE)...

As usual you can see the original image HERE in my Tumblr...

Zeruel's Attack (Part 5)

Part 5 is here (see also parts 1, 2, 3 and 4)
And I told you in part 4 that you would see a berserk Eva 01 someday! 
And it only had some touch ups, it is an actual custom made from a Revoltech Eva 01, you can see it's first pics here and the original image for this post here...

So, the paper arm of Zeruel was added by making a rectangle and the "deform" tool and the AT field is a stock design I've used previously

Just a week before my Eva 13 is shipped!
And from there it'll be only a few days until Eva 02 gamma XD

The Beast

Shini's purple beast!
That iconic image of Evangelion Eva 01 coming from the blast the 3rd Angel (4th in Rebuild) created!
I did it in a rush, theese last weeks have been a run-around of chaos at school!

I made this from a suggestion someone made at the Evageeks forum about this specific image, so, here it is!
I used some Gaussian blur to create the firey background and did some editing on the Eva's right eye...
Also, I decided on the 2.0 mold instead of the Eva Evolution one... I think the proportions are far better...

Anyhow, I'll try to post something next weekend... Last week of thsi semester is here!

Dummy Plug

The sad fate of Evangelion 03...
This took me a bit since  I've had tons of homework this week :(

I had to rush the end of the image (as evidenced by the trees on the left and the ugly building on the right)
but I added those "shines" that pass from the BG as an experiment... I think I almost got it XD

Anywho, they've already announced Evangelion 13 for July!
And Evangelion Q is out in less than 15 days!

So nice I'm back in school where time flows faster :3

Year 3: An die Freude II

A continuation of this image, from back in December, Eva 02 and Eva 02 fighting as seen in episode 24, moments before Kaworu enters Lilith's Chamber in Terminal Dogma!

I used my Bandai Soul Stage Act 5 to hold the Evas in place, given that both of them are falling, the Revoltech bases couldn't quite do what I wanted, and the limited places from where those can hold the Evas (basically, only the umbilical cable socket!) made imposible to put Eva 02 without having the base in the way...

Anyways, I watched episode 24 to see how  to draw the roof of that strange room... I have always wondered about those salt-tower-like things there...

Also, I edited the chest of Eva 01 to erase the excess of progressive knife on the hand of Eva 02 and added the tiny image of Kaworu, as taken from the cover of volume 11 of the manga...

Well, that's it, have you visited the Evaposers Tumblr? I post there the original photos of the figures before editing... You can see this images' original HERE...

Also, this month marks the 3rd anniversary on the Evaposers Blogspot!
In that time it has received almost 20,000 visits! It's not much, but it encourages me to keep it going, even if it's just for 20 people who entered a 1000 times each!

Cruel Dilemme

Evangelion 01 and 00 after operation Yashima in Evangelion 1.0...
Let us forget the severe burning that Unit 00 suffered at the hands (or energy beam) of the 6th angel...
Anyways, nothing new here, just the already familiar water motion effect...

So, I ordered a Bandai Eva 02 kit from Mandarake and a Bandai Stage Act 5  from AmiAmi (I've had enough of the impracticality of Revoltech bases), so in about 3 weeks I'll be posting new material with those... Well, I bough the Eva because it's Spear of Longinus looks kinda cool and the base for the before-mentioned reason... You'll probable be seeing the Spear... But not the bases, haha...

Anyhow, now waiting for the video release of Evangelion 3.0, the Q Revoltechs and the Hot Toys Ada Wong...
Looks like a long way to go but I noticed that we are already halfway into February!
That was fast!

Operation Yashima II

Eva 01 ready to fire the Positron Sniper Rifle (the "2nd Experimental High Power Self-Propelled 460mm Positron Cannon" according to the official designation)...

This time I used again Google's SketchUp to make the firing pit, well, the best approximation I could make with the basic knowledge I've gathered so far about the program...
This is barely the 3rd time I've used that Positron Rifle, the first one was here and the other here... And never with the same Eva 01! 
BTW, the figure it's making it's debut on the blog: it's the Revoltech #032! 
I bought it in December but I didn't had the chance of using it until now, so here it is!
Also, its addition completes all the Evangelion Revoltech collection of mine (let's leave aside the very 1st version of Eva 05 and all those unnecessary limited editions that just vary a bit the color or transparency of other Evas :D )

Anyway, besides the 3D thingie no new stuff here... I'm already making the image for next week (one of Eva 04, a requested by someone)

An die Freude

The desperate battle between Eva 01 and the remotely controlled Eva 02 in their descent to Terminal Dogma...
There's not much in this one, glows here and there, extensive editing on Eva 02's head to accommodate the eyes under the openings and a quick drawing of Kaworu...

Not much after many weeks without posting, but it's a start...

I bought a couple of orchids to accompany my carnivorous plants so my plant table is getting crowded (well, it already was anyways).. I'm on vacation now so I'll post weekly...
Any suggestions?

Sin From Genesis

After some 3D work I managed to make the cubic AT field of this scene!
Of course, rendering is a different thing... I had made a texture that emulated how the AT field looks like on that scene but it turned out looking plain orange...
I added some glow here and there, a canvas painting effect and done!

The Zeruel is a drawing I made... Dunno how it looks like... I'm not good drawing so you'll have to tell me...

The Eva 01 in God mode (or released if you prefer) was easy too, first time the chroma key goes in the first click... And since there's no light arm to draw of halo to match angle with it was a piece of cake...

Anyhow, a few days for Resident Evil: Retribution; one month to go for Resident Evil 6 and then it's countdown for Evangelion Q... And then for a crappy cam rip XD

A Step Forward Into Terror II

The first (ill fated) sortie of Eva 01 and 02 together...

Last year I found a gashapon figure of Israfel, the angel they're battling in this scene on Ebay, however, I lost the auction. so they'll be fighting an invisible enemy...

Not much new here except that I had to use the head of other image of Eva 01 and paste it on top on this one 'cuz despite the body is on the right position, the head was facing somewhere else... Those damm neck articulations of old ¬¬"

What? Umbilical cables on that scene... I know... But to what was the other end plugged? XD

Let us bypass that...

Past tomorrow I'll be back in school... So I'll try to keep posting...

How to fix the "broken" neck of a 1st gen. Eva and not kill him trying:

So, Eva 01 volunteered to show this process even though the last one didn't went quite well...

...so this MP Eva will help us get his neck... Separated...

...easy on him...

...you can see now, every part of the neck can be separated...

...now, bend one side of the joint to max. and align the backside of the front piece of the neck with it...

...now, just slide the neck front up the joint and push it so that it ends parallel  with the joint's length...

 ...put the joint in the body and move it so that you can check it worked, if it did, you'll know XD

Ta-da!

I wanted to make this image since a long time ago, but there were some... Uhm... Perspective issues...

Anyhow, nothing new in this one except for the spiraling effect on the clouds above the angel...
