Eva Magi, Holy Quintet!

Ok, maybe the Madoka Magica-Evangelion crossover is not the best idea I've had, but don't they look cute?  XD
Nothing new here, I used random screencaps of Maya's monitors from Rebuild and some 3D design for the spiraling end of the Lance of Cassius Eva 02 is holding... Also, lacking a bow for Madoka/Eva 08 I used Eva 02's crossbow... And since all the shields I have are way too big, Homura/Eva 01 will only have the sentai pose...
Anyhow, hoping to return to a weekly basis now that I've finished my semester...

Ok, tal vez un crossover de Madoka Magica-Evangelion no es la mejor idea que he tenido, pero ¿acaso no se ven lindos? XD
Nada nuevo aquí, use capturas de pantalla al azar de los monitores de Maya en Rebuild y un poco de diseño 3D para el extremo en espiral de la Lanza de Cassius que sostiene el Eva 02... También, a falta de un arco para Madoka/Eva 08 usé la ballesta del Eva 02... Y ya que todos los escudos que tengo son muy grandes, Homura/Eva 01 solo tendrá su pose sentai...
En fin, espero regresar a producción semanal ahora que concluí el semestre...

Also, I couldn't think on some image to make... I have several drafts for images based on the battle at the Terminal Dogma from Evangelion Q, but I don't wanna use those too quickly...

Evangelion 00: Activation complete! Again!

And again,  nothing new here, I even planned to recycle the BG of the other image of the berserk Eva 00 only to discover that I did not had an unaltered design (the other already had the punches on them) so I had to make it from scratch...
Revoltech is making a re-run of Evangelion 13, so if you missed your chance, you can get it at retail price!

Y de nuevo, nada nuevo aquí, incluso pensé en reciclar el fondo de la otra imagen del Eva 00 berserk sólo para descubrir que no tenía el diseño sin alterar (el otro ya tení las marcas de los golpes) así que tuve que hacerlo desde cero...
Revoltech está haciendo un re-lanzamiento del Evangelion 13, así que si perdiste tu oportunidad, ¡podrás conseguirlo a precio de venta!

Angel Tower

Evangelion 00 
And it has company!

I recently received the book "Groundwork of Evangelion Vol. #3; so I decided to put it to use...
I took a picture (Scan? Nope, the scanner would damage the book) of the angel tower production drawing and then copied it in Photoshop line-by-line to use it...
Besides that there's nothing new here... 
Anyhow, have you seen the Evangelion 8+2 Revoltech? I still have my doubts it, and given that apparently it's a limited Edition then I'll have to check thoroughly before buying it, I don't wanna have to pay much for and Eva that will likely change by Evangelion 4.0...

El Evangelion 00 
Y trae compañía!

Acabo de recibir el libro "Groundwork of Evangelion Vol. #3; así que decidí darle uso...
Tomé una foto (Escanear? No, el escaner dañaría el lomo dle libro) del dibujo de producción de la torre de ángeles y lo calqué en Photoshop línea por línea para usarlo aquí...
Aparte de eso no hay nada nuevo aquí... 
En fin, han visto el Revoltech del Evangelion 8+2? Aún tengo mis dudas acerca de el, y dado que aparentemente es de edición limitada tendré que revisar cuidadosamente antes de comprarlo, no quiero pagar demasiado por una Eva que probablemente cambiará para Evangelion 4.0...

Bio-Contamination! (Part 2)

A direct continuation of this image, Evangelion 00 and 03 as seen in episode 18!

I couldn't decide on making either an image of Eva 00 or Eva 03, so I made one with both of them!
Nothing really new on this one, I did it in a hurry (as usual) to finish some documents I need for my social service...

Anyhow, Eva 02 Gamma is released this week, so, assuming the Hot Toys Ada Wong I ordered for June is not delayed another month, I'll be receiving it until next month...

After Blast

Evangelion 00 after the giga-blast that rendered it useless in Evangelion 2.0... Just well done for the Angel to chomp...

I did this in a rush... So, nothing new, bits of smoke here and there and a few light transparencies... I used a Zeruel Shito no Katachi figure for, well, the angel... I hadn't used it since HERE...

I had not posted stuff here, semester end so lots of homework to make XD
And the final week is here! So I posted no prospective image on my Tumblr as to not comprimising myself... BTW, see the original images of this picture HERE...

I've been experimenting with 3D design and the extraction of video game files... I'll be posting something nice on my DevianArt account later ;D

Cruel Dilemme

Evangelion 01 and 00 after operation Yashima in Evangelion 1.0...
Let us forget the severe burning that Unit 00 suffered at the hands (or energy beam) of the 6th angel...
Anyways, nothing new here, just the already familiar water motion effect...

So, I ordered a Bandai Eva 02 kit from Mandarake and a Bandai Stage Act 5  from AmiAmi (I've had enough of the impracticality of Revoltech bases), so in about 3 weeks I'll be posting new material with those... Well, I bough the Eva because it's Spear of Longinus looks kinda cool and the base for the before-mentioned reason... You'll probable be seeing the Spear... But not the bases, haha...

Anyhow, now waiting for the video release of Evangelion 3.0, the Q Revoltechs and the Hot Toys Ada Wong...
Looks like a long way to go but I noticed that we are already halfway into February!
That was fast!

Angel Attack II

The beggining of the angel Armisael's attack on Evangelion 00...
It was kinda hard to make the shot effect without it looking like a paint splat...

Besides the many light effects there's nothing new, I used the blur effect for the contamination marks on the Eva's hand and arm (something I had used before in a similar fashion here)

Anyways, in a few hours the Wonder Festival will begin and the Evangelion 3.0 Revoltechs will probably be first shown :D

Fate II

Well, I finally ended playing Resident Evil 6...
Fun all the way through... Now just to wait for the Hot Toys Ada Wond to be released...

Anyhow, Eva 00 holding the 8th Angel's core...

I dunno why, but I don't really like this one...

Nothing new on except for the hand-drawn angel arm (something I did previously here, in fact, this drawing is essentially a continuation of those 3)

Anyways, my Eva 02 beta is on the way, I used a cheaper shipping method to save some cash, so I guess I'll be receiving it by the 2nd or 3rd week of November...

Just in time for the movie's release XD

Sacrifice

I find Rei's banzai charge in Evangelion 2.0 much more effective than in NGE as a way to portray her selflessness (or maybe it's the feelings she has for Shinji... Or suicide tendencies...)
Anyhow, Just a few fire and smoke effects in the BG, trees and movement filter...

I have always found Rebuild's Eva 00 to be hard to chroma key... Despite a blue BG works well for most Evas, the gray in this one's arms always gets in the way, so I have to erase BG manually anyway...

Next week Resident Evil: Retribution comes out here in Mexico (dunno why the week delay ¬¬) 
 Then it's the countdown for Resident Evil 6!!!

In other news:
I'm learning how to make 2-part silicone molds to replicate pieces of my figures, after some experiments (that included the replication of the angel forearms of EvaEvo 03 and the double blade of the MP Evas) I managed to make a complete copy of...

The MP Evas LoL! This one will be purple once the resin dries off completely...
To do list: Mark 6's spear (that one will be red); the positron rifle of NGE, to custom it into the one of episode 22; then who knows!

The day Tokio III stood still

Well... Over a month since last post!

This time it actually took me quite some time make this one... When I first conceived it it didn't seemed that hard...

So, episode 11, Eva 01, 02 and the recently refurbished unit 00 go out and fight a big spider-like thingie...

Posing the figures was tricky as I didn't knew how wide the shaft was going to be, and since it couldn't take the photos in a 3D space I think Eva 00 looks like it's adhered to the wall à la Spider-Man...

The rifle was also a question mark in the sketch... I actually wrote on the side of the drawing "who was carrying the rifle?"

After a careful analysis of the episode I came to the conclusion that the rifle appears only after unit 02 fall on top of Eva 00 (really! it does!)

So, I decided to include it in a strap attached to Eva 00 (it appears that it had the rifle all along)...

The rifle, BTW, is also a bit of 3D design (a simple extrusion, I'm still playing with 3D tools)...

The batteries are simple black rectangles with some details, I originally intended them to be 3D design too but went against it as I couldn't match the camera angle to rasterize it on the Eva's pylon...

Bit of shadows here and there, glow in the eyes and green of Eva 01 and done!

Well... Now I have no excuse for not making drawings (I'm on vacation now)

Burning

I borrowed my sister's camera XD

Now, this is some sort of continuation of an image that has no beginning... If you remember in HERE I stated that Eva 00 was supposed  to be the Rebuild version... This scene was supposed to go next and since the angel is not seen, I used the Eva originally planned...

So, there is a lot more in this image that meets the eye, for example, there are new stars in the sky (not the ones I've recycled about 10 times) and the ESV can be seen melting away at the Eva's feet (after careful analyzing of the scene in 1.11, I discovered (late, of course) that the shield melts from base to top and not as depicted here... 

The angel's doom bean was tricky to make, but I think it came out right... Hard as always, the sea of flames below... For some reason, and after trying many sets of brushes, I rarely draw flames that satisfy me...

I'll try to post something next week...

Situation resolved!

Done in a rush... Again... That's why the elbows of Eva 00 look like half-baked cake...

Just came back from the movies, saw The Beauty and the Beast on 3D... Great as always... 

Anyhow... The scene where Eva 02 is introduced in Rebuild of Evangelion, unfortunately I couldn't find the image of a ship to place it sinking behind Eva 00...

There was supposed to be a mirror image, of Eva 02 as seen from behind Eva 00, but there were, ejem, production incidents involving the tiny plastic piece that holds Eva 02's rigth pylon in place... It's currently in recovery from the surgery...

I just noticed how great this year will be: 2 Resident Evil games (Op. Raccoon City and 6); 2 Resident Evil movies (Retribution and Damnation); Evangelion 3.0 in Fall and End of the World in December!

It doesn't get any better (unless Hot Toys decides to release the 1/6 Ada Wong figure and re-run midnight Albert Wesker)...

What am I, if can't be yours...?

The sad, sad ending of Eva 00 and Rei as seen in episode 23...
Eva 00 was tricky to pose, as the hands and limited shoulder articulation (when bending towards the body) would get in the way...
In the end it didn't matter 'cuz the Eva's arms are covered by the light effects...
Now, I was given the Rei outline, and originally she was going to be only a black outline, butI didn't liked the resulto, so I colored Rei; then I tried to make her semi-transparent, but it looked horrible... She ended as she is now...

Episode 22 (or is it 15)

I made it with episode 22 in mind, so let's all take that one as reference...
I had to lower quality to post something today... I have to resume 41 pages about plant cells and a lab report for botany; make 5 papers for cell biology and complete a biostatistics report!
SO, sorry... Eva 00 is not holding the Lance, the bow of the ship in the 1st plane is the one seen here...
Not much in here...
I hope I can keep up with both the blog and my homework!

Shield Crush

Originally, Rebuild's Eva 00 was gonna be here, but then I remembered that in the new movies, Ramiel had a different shape when firing it's doom beam, so the scene was changed to the Tv version...
Accordingly, I changed the ESV and Rebuild 1.0 Eva 00 for their NGE counterparts...
All of that was really easy, the beam's blast and the fire on the back were a bit trickyer...
I completed the back's spinal cord armor and applied a bit of glow over the angel...
As usual I reused the stars from other pics...

Have you seen the pics of the completed Revoltech Mark VI?
Can hardly wait!

Page markers #5

Despite I said that it would be 1 image split in 3 page markers, I couldn't do it... Why? Well, to make it short, perspective issues...
At the end I came up with these, all of wich ended up being testbeds for unused tools...
The clouds in Eva 00's image were edited with a tool called "Spherize"; under normal circumstances it would have "inflated" the image, however I used it backwards to give the impression of looking at the image as if painted in a bowl...
In Eva 01's, the trees have the motion blur, not the Eva; this stills give sthe impression of movement without distorting the figure itself...
Eva 02's used the perspective tool to make the angel's "wing" on the sky...
Anyhow, did you noticed on what is Eva 02 standing?

In retrospective, the blue Eva 00 should've been paired with unit 02, as it appeared before Eva 03...
Anyhow, the order of factors doesn't alterate the result...
This time Eva 00 IS holding the Lance of Longinus, however, I had to improvise the BG 'cuz I noticed too late that I didn't had any building to place that matched the Eva's perspective!
Eva 04 was easier, it was originally gonna be posed as Iron Man (landing on it's knee with the fist on the floor) but due to the figure's, ejem, articulation limitations, it couldn't be done...

Ps: Already pre-ordered EvaEvo 03!
